Where The Stars Spend The Night

By David Friedman

With Miami Beach sizzling again, stars and celebs, led by hip hop's royalty, are flocking to its art-deco hotels, sophisticated eateries and trendy night spots. Here are the red-hot places where they stay:

The Raleigh
1775 Collins Ave.; 305-534-6300

Nothing screams genteel, rarefied old Hollywood glamour like this renovated hotel owned by Andre Balazs, famous for his Los Angeles counterpart, the Chateau Marmont. The art-deco lobby is hushed and Old World, and the lush outdoor patio leads out to the most spectacular pool in town. You might expect Hepburn or Bogie to stroll by any moment. (Rates: $225-$5,000)
Celeb guests: Madonna and Guy Ritchie, Balazs' girlfriend Uma Thurman, Lenny Kravitz and Owen Wilson at the informal Sunday night pool party.

The Delano
1685 Collins Ave.; 305-672-2000

Think tropical Beverly Hills polo club, with billowing white curtains, dim candles and crisp tablecloths. The Delano, owned by hotelier extraordinaire Ian Schrager, is classy and quiet, with a gleaming poolside bar just a few steps away from the private beach. (Rates: $525-$5,000)
Celeb guests: Ashton Kutcher, Will Smith, Queen Latifah.

The Shore Club
1901 Collins Ave.; 305-695-3100

The lobby is muted and starkly white, but the Shore Club's vibrant and colorful patio and gardens give it that flashy Miami vibe. The rooms are simple, almost austere. (Rates: $525-$15,000)
Celeb guests: Bono, Justin Timberlake, Lenny Kravitz

The Sagamore
1671 Collins Ave.; 305-535-8088

Walk through the hushed, refined lobby into an ascetically luxurious room. Or grab a poolside cabana to stay in the thick of the action. (Rates: $179-$3,500)
Celeb guests: Adrien Brody, Michael Caine
